HOLDING AN AUDIENCE WITH THE DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF EBTKE, MKI DIVISION VI DISCUSSES THE FUTURE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY

MKI Division VI had the opportunity to hold a discussion with the Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) regarding various strategic issues. These included the development of new and renewable energy (EBT), the implementation of Local Content Requirements (TKDN), the strengthening of the electricity supporting industry, and the enhancement of investment to support the acceleration of the national energy transition.

The discussion also addressed EBT development, the implementation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Regulation Number 11 of 2024, the alignment of TKDN regulations, the strengthening of MKI's role as a think tank, and the plan to develop an Investor Lounge at Electricity Connect 2026 as a business matching platform between the government, PLN, investors, and industry players.

Several follow-up actions becoming the focus of collaboration between MKI and the Directorate General of EBTKE include:

  • Formulating policy briefs/policy papers as input to enhance TKDN implementation in the electricity sector.

  • Collaborating on the compilation of the Domestic Product Appreciation Book (APDN) as an industry profile database to support the increase of TKDN.

  • Disseminating information about the EBT Award to MKI members to encourage participation in the national award event, which offers an opportunity to represent Indonesia at the ASEAN level.

Through close synergy between the government, associations, and industry players, it is hoped that a more competitive and sustainable electricity ecosystem will be created, capable of accelerating the achievement of Indonesia's energy transition targets.
