Humanitarian Synergy: MKI Aceh Partners with PLN UID Aceh to Distribute Clean Water Aid and Religious Equipment for Pidie Jaya Residents

PIDIE JAYA, April 1, 2026 – The Indonesian Electrical Power Society (MKI), represented by the MKI Aceh Region, reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility by distributing humanitarian aid to residents affected by flash floods in Pidie Jaya Regency. In this action, MKI synergized with PT PLN (Persero) Distribution Main Unit (UID) Aceh to ensure the aid is well-targeted and provides long-term benefits.

The flash floods that struck several points in Pidie Jaya caused damage to basic infrastructure, including the contamination of clean water sources by mud and debris. Responding to these conditions, MKI Aceh prioritized assistance in the form of water treatment technology to ensure public health is maintained during the recovery period.

MKI stated that this collaboration is a tangible manifestation of the presence of the electrical power community amidst the community's difficulties. A total of 3 units of ready-to-consume water treatment machines have been handed over and placed in severely affected locations, namely:

  • Gampong Mesjid Tuha (Meureudu District)

  • Gampong Dayah Kruet (Meurah Dua District)

  • Gampong Meunasah Mee (Jangka Buya District)

"MKI is not just a professional forum in the electricity sector; we are part of the community. We saw that clean water became a major obstacle for residents post-disaster. With these machines, we want to ensure that residents have independent and sustainable access to hygienic drinking water," said a representative of the MKI Aceh board in a statement.

In addition to focusing on health, MKI also handed over religious equipment packages consisting of prayer carpets, Mushaf Al-Qur'an, mukena (prayer robes), and sarongs for the mosques in Gampong Manyang Cut and Meunasah Bie. This distribution aims to enable the community to return to worship comfortably even during the recovery phase.

This cooperation between MKI and PLN UID Aceh is expected to serve as an example of solid synergy between a professional association and a power utility provider in carrying out social responsibility. MKI is committed to continuing to monitor field conditions and coordinating with various parties to support the acceleration of socio-economic recovery in the Aceh region.
